The MDI Data Dashboard has been updated with data collected during the 2024-25 school year!

The MDI Data Dashboard is an online, interactive tool for exploring trends in Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) data from 2018-19 school year to present at the provincial, school district, and neighbourhood levels. MDI data available through the Dashboard are reported based on children’s home postal codes and include children who completed the MDI in a participating school districts or independent schools, living within the boundary type selected.

You can find out what’s new and any changes to the MDI Dashboard this year in the Technical Guide. For example, data about children’s experiences in their neighbourhood is available once again. This includes questions about whether or not there are places in their neighbourhood/community where they feel comfortable to hang out with friends, and if neighbours help each other. You can explore these data in the Dimensions Module, through the “Use of Out-of-School Time” Dimension, along with many other interesting topics.
