The Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) is pleased to announce that Dr. Emily Jenkins will join the research centre as a faculty member.

“I am thrilled to join HELP and to have the opportunity to contribute to a scholarly community with a long history of generating evidence that is being used to make meaningful improvements to young peoples’ health and wellbeing,” says Jenkins.

Dr. Jenkins, a registered nurse, is an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia. She brings extensive clinical and research expertise from acute and community mental health and substance use settings. She is recognized as a leader in the youth mental health and substance use field and has established policy, practice, and media channels that support knowledge mobilization and research impact.

Dr. Mariana Brussoni, Director of HELP, is thrilled to add that with every new faculty member, HELP benefits from a fresh perspective, new possibilities, and a larger and more vibrant HELP family. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jenkins to HELP,” says Brussoni. “Her research prioritizes the voices of youth, particularly those experiencing social and structural vulnerabilities and stems from a strengths-based approach. We are excited by the new conversations and research projects that will be sparked by Emily’s unique perspective.”
