May 7 Event: Scientific Basis of Mental Health Promotion and Resiliency in Childhood and Adolescence
Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl, is a Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education, Faculty of Education, University of British Columbia. Her research centres on the thriving and well-being of children and youth, focussing on positive mental health/social and emotional learning/resiliency.
Dr. Schonert-Reichl’s field of specialization is Applied Developmental Psychology. A significant focus of her work is around social-emotional development in children. How does a child’s socialemotional development positively influence their well-being and learning? How does it set the stage for improved mental health for adolescents and adults?
