HELP is an interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff and affiliates dedicated to improving the health and well-being of children and promoting equity from the start. Having established itself as a well-respected and internationally renowned research centre for over 20 years, HELP maintains strong relationships with school districts and other key partners (health, municipal, community). These relationships have allowed the centre to make an impact at multiple levels, ranging from government policy and investment, to regional and community development and service planning, to local school district programs and initiatives.

Sunny Hill BC Leadership Chair in Child Development
The BC Leadership Chair in Child Development will support the evolution of Sunny Hill, BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre as international leaders in the field of child development. Their work will examine the ways in which systematic differences in childhood environments varying by neighborhood, community, or socioeconomic context affect development, to advance our understanding of the factors that foster healthy child outcomes. The research program will address issues both of typical and atypical development. The Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia (UBC), Sunny Hill Health Centre, and the Centre for Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) invite applications for a successful candidate eligible to be nominated for the approved Sunny Hill BC Leadership Chair in Child Development in the Department of Pediatrics, and appointed a faculty position at the rank of Professor with tenure.
Graduate Research Assistant – CoRE-LAB
The University of British Columbia’s Community Research and Engagement (CoRE) Lab in the Human Early Learning Partnership (HELP) is seeking a highly motivated UBC graduate student to assist our research team on several research projects. In regular contact with the Principal Investigator(s) and Research Administrator, the student will assist in various aspects of data collection, data cleaning and analysis, and facilitating research partnership communications and knowledge translation. This student will benefit from a strong collaboration between UBC, HELP, and the CoRE-Lab. More information, including application details, are found in the link below.
