Children's Well-Being in their Middle Years: New Research Highlights

Date: Thursday, April 23, 2015 – Time: 3:00PM to 4:00PM

Presenter: Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl

The Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) is a scientifically validated self-report survey for 4th and 7th grade students that gathers important information on the social and emotional lives of children both inside and outside of school – providing actionable results on five dimensions of well-being strongly linked to health and academic achievement.  To date, 26 school districts across BC have participated in the MDI project providing valuable information about the social and emotional lives of over 33,000 students in BC. Many school districts have participated in the MDI over multiple years to track the well-being and challenges faced by their students over time.  Please join us on April 23rd to learn more about social and emotional learning, the importance of the middle years and the Middle Years Development Instrument.
